Requirements for CHED Student Financial Assistance Program Application

CHED STUDENT FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAMS (StuFAPs)

…It is a mandated function of the State as provided for in the Philippine Constitution “to protect and promote the right of all citizens to quality education at all levels, and take appropriate steps to make such education accessible to all”…

CHED aims to…

  1. Integrate, simplify and focus on few umbrella StuFAPs
  2. Select the most deserving scholars, grantees and student-borrowers
  3. Determine a more equitable distribution of StuFAPs
  4. Facilitate and simplify implementation of StuFAPs

Scholarship Programs

  1. Full – Merit – Php 15,000.00 / semester
  2. Half – Merit – Php 7,500.00 / semester

Grants-In-Aid

  1. Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace Process CHED Study Grant Program for Rebel Returnees (OPAPP – CHED SGPRR)
  2. DND – CHED – PASUC Study Grant Program (DCP)
  3. CHED Special Study Grant Program for Congressional Districts / Party Lists / Senate – Php 2,500.00 – Php 5,000.00 / semester
  4. Tulong – Dunong (TD) – Php 6,000.00 / semester

Student Loans

  1. Study-Now-Pay-Later Plan Program
  2. HEIs
     
    SAFE Loan Program
  3. StuFAPs-SAFE4SR
  4. H.E.L.P Program

Qualification and Documentary Requirements:
  1. Filipino Citizens of Good Moral Character
  2. High School Graduate
  3. At least 80% GWA – Form 138 and GSA
  4. National Career Assessment Examination (NCAE)
90% above – Full Merit
85% above – Half Merit
80% - 84% – grants-in-aid & student loan programs
  1. Annual Gross Income of Parents / Guardian <= Php 300,000.00
  2. Not more than 30 years of age at the time of application
  3. Freshmen and/or college student in any curricular year level

FOR STUDENT-BORROWERS

  1. Loan Agreement with CHED Regional Office
  2. Co-borrower who is active member of SSS/GSIS

Documentary Requirements:
  1. StuFAPs Application – CHED Form 01
  2. Form 138 / High School Card – Certified Copy
  3. NCAE Result – Certified Copy
  4. ITR of Certificate of Tax Exemption
  5. Certificate of Good Moral Character from the High School
  6. Certified true copy of grades of the previous semester attended (SNPLP only)
  7. Notarized Contract between CHED and student-borrower (SNPLP only)
  8. Proof of SSS / GSIS premium contribution of co-borrower (SNPLP only)

Ranking of Scholars / Grantees and Student-Borrowers

40% - NCAE Result
30% - Form 138
20% - ITR / Certificate of Tax Exemption
10% - Number of Siblings in the Family

Scholars/Grantees Obligations:
  1. Shall carry a full semester / trimester – prescribed course curriculum
  2. Transfer only in HEIs with recognized programs / selected HEIs
  3. No grantee shall be allowed to defer enrolment
  4. Maintain satisfactory academic performance
  5. Return service provision the FULL MERIT scholars for 2 YEARS

Grounds for Termination

  1. Failure to maintain a general weighted average of 2.5, B, or 81% and failing grades in at least two major academic subjects
  2. Convicted for any crime/offense committed

Application Period of CHED StuFAPs is MARCH – APRIL
